Episode 1
WHO: Rua, Ruka & Ushio
WHERE: Initially, Tops
WHEN: 7/25/2022
WHAT: Ruka gets paid a visit and asked a request. Given who's doing the asking, "no thanks" probably isn't an option.
WARNINGS: See keywords.

It was six months since the final battle between the Signers and the Dark Signers. Much had changed in Neo Domino City, mostly related to the conditions in Satellite and the treatment of the people therein. But one thing was still missing - the Daedalus Bridge that Rex Goodwin promised Yusei Fudo would be built if he defeated the Dark Signers. To that end, the new Director, Ruan Jarvis, made Yusei another promise. If he participated in a Duel Monsters tournament overseas as a representative of Neo Domino and Satellite, that he would see the Daedalus Bridge built. So Yusei, Jack, Aki and Crow have all left the city to go overseas and honor their end of the agreement that this time, will hopefully be upheld.
That left only one Signer left in Neo Domino City.

Whether it had waited for her to have a peaceful dream or had fabricated one itself so it could intrude at a time when she'd be relatively calm wasn't clear. And, in the grand scheme of things, it was probably irrelevant.
Whether Ruka's dream involved the spirit world or her friends or her brother, whatever it was would probably become a blur shortly after the sky darkened and the mark on her forearm began to glow brightly, heralding its descent. It wouldn't be the first time she'd seen it in her dreams, but the other times had always been visions of the past. This was different. As it came down from the sky and let out a loud, echoing screech, she'd know that the Crimson Dragon had come specifically to speak with her.
The Crimson Dragon's message for its Signer was as succinct as it had been abrupt - and it wasn't so much "a message" as it was a series of images directly into her mind with some information intrinsically attached to them: A Public Security Maintenance Bureau building. Scientists working in it. And the device they were working on. A machine capable of opening gateways. Gateways to other worlds. What Security would want or need with such a device was unclear, but the final thing the Crimson Dragon conveyed to Ruka was a strong urging - she had to go secure the device. It couldn't be allowed to remain in Security's hands. The message reiterated that Ruka was the only Signer left in the country at the moment and she had to be the one to do this. But at the same time, there was something else, perhaps, the closest thing any of the Signers had ever felt from the Crimson Dragon to an emotion (and it would make sense for Ruka of all people to be the only one who could perceive that sort of thing). It was something akin to a sense of trust. Faith that she'd be capable of doing this without the other Signers.
Then, the Crimson Dragon roared once more and it was gone, to leave Ruka to either wake up or continue to dream as she decided.
After six months without their marks acting up once - one would suppose that streak had to end eventually.
